My husband and I are talking a great deal at the moment, which is a refreshing change from the prevailent silence occassionally interrupted with mind games, that was the occuring norm before.

One of the simplest and most direct reasons for this, was that I went back to the US for Christmas and New Year, therefore giving us both space to think. A break of three weeks and the distance of 3000 miles allowed for more removed perspective.

As he continues with his therapy, a lot has begun to emerge. It sounds trite but issues from his childhood are now coming out as root problems in his inability to communicate and interact.

I too have my own issues, as does everyone, and I am beginning to see how my personality quirks play off his. Who knows what will happen? Clearly, we are far from fine, but at the moment I am enjoying his company more than I have in nearly six months.
