Here is the finished fireplace. It was too much work. If you think about changing your Georgeian tiles, I would advise against. It is beautiful now.

It really doesn't get much better than this in the month of October. Dead Man's Bones is a fun band.

D's parents are still here at the moment. D's dad installed an extractor fan in the bathroom. It is nice to have done.

Dand his dad are going to put pointing (concrete mixed with lyme)in between the brickwork in the back of the house tomorrow. D had chipped it all out and but had not gotten around to filling it back in.

Also, tomorrow, we have a chimney sweep coming around to sweep the two fireplaces out. There is one in the living room and one in the master bedroom. The one in the living room has a gas line to it but the one in the bedroom does not. Once they are swept, then we can install a fire basket and connect the gas to it. We will have a working fire in the living room!! I am so excited.
